Quotes & Wisdoms & Observations
This section is guaranteed to piss people off. Maybe you. If so, I would like to apologize in advance for not actually giving a damn about you and your feelings. Americans needs to wake up. We spend more time trying to polite then honest. If honestly hurts, then maybe hurting is what is needed to fix our problems.
March 11, 2009. I finally figured out one important observations: Only Car companies and Drug Dealers use the metric system.
There for I conclude
- The car companies started going down hill when they made everything metric. Could not changing back improve things? Ok, almost anything change may likely improve things.
- Could outlawing the metric system control the drug problem? If druggies can not use metric how will know how much to sell? "You are being arrested for possession of an illegal substance and for using an illegal measurement. The judge is going to throw the book at you!"

This the season (Holidays, 2009) for sales and specials. I especially like the end of year auto commercials. "The more you spend, the more you save when buy you buy a new ______ " brand of car. I have an idea, save even more and don't buy a car/truck you don't actually need.

"It does not matter if you win or lose, but how you play the game," is a speech never given by the WINNING coach. But maybe it should be once in a while.

"Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country", President John F. Kennedy.
"Ask not what you can do for yourself but what will others do for you", most people today.

Welcome to America, the land of the greatest dreams. Now do everything you can to force your former county's way of life on us. If your county, your language and your culture is so great - Why did you leave it? P.S. I see this everyday with people who move to Las Vegas and want to tell me how great it was where they were before. To which I, actually, ask the question, "If _(insert city)__ is so great why are you FROM there and not STILL there.

Facts about Babe Ruth, a great baseball player before medically assisted stats were the norm.
Played in 2,503 games and was at bat 8,398 times hitting an amazing 714 home runs and a total of 2,873 hits. That only leaves 5,525 strike outs.
Observation: You can not hit a homerun while in the dugout and you will not hit a homerun every time, so you might as well step to the plate (of life) and swing away. The greatest to ever play did it that way.

I have called Las Vegas my home for nearly 20 years. In that time, I have seen LV grow and change a lot. However, Forbes Magazine has always had it in for Las Vegas and slams the city in nearly every issue. I guess they feel it is their moral duty to slam 'sin'. Being a premier capitalist magazine, they must prefer people earn their fortunes through shoddy business management and back room deals, rather then at the poker tables. Recently (Nov, 2009) Forbes released a survey of the Healthiest States. Of course, they rated Nevada at something like 45th. I guess that they forgot that Las Vegas is a top retirement spot where many people in their 60s, 70s, and 80s move to live in a less harsh climate then like New England states, which scored much higher. I would guess that nobody at Forbes was smart enough to calulate that people 60, 70 or 80 are GOING to have more medical problems then the 20 & 30 year olds still in cold weather states. Ironically, they slammed Southern States a lot as being problem areas, but many of these states (Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina) all have growing 'retirement communities' with older folks leaving states like #1 Vermont, #3 Massachusetts, #5 New Hampshire, #6 Minnesota, #7 Connecticut, #9 Maine, #10 Rhode Island and #12 Wisconsin. Coincidence? Think not.

I listen to a variety of music. Sometimes country, sometimes soft rock, sometimes classic rock. Again, these are Las Vegas stations. I noticed during a stint of listening to "County" that numerous Debt Fixers (debt consolidations, bankruptcy attorneys, mortgage re-negotiators, etc) liked to advertise on the station. I switched to a classic rock station and it seemed like every 4th or 5th commercial was for a strip club or party bar of some flavor.
Observation: People listening to county must be more likely to sit at home worrying about money, and the rock people are out parting and enjoying life. Which is Right or Wrong? Your call, I just observed and reported my take.
