If you are warm and happy

I originally saw this in a shop in Korea near my Army base. I do not know who the author is, but sometimes when I forget how lucky I am in many areas, I use this to remind me to be happy with what I have, not sad about what I don't.

As winter approached one year, a Sparrow, tired of the annual fly south just to fly back north the next spring, decided he was not going.

However as the cold winter closed in around him, he finally, reluctantly, headed south. But the cold conditions resulted in his wings icing up and finally unable to fly, to crash to the earth.

As he laid there, freezing, he knew it was the end and it was over, he would freeze to death in the farmer's barnyard where he landed.

Just then a passing cow pooped on him and completely covered him with cow dung. Now, he was certain he had met his end.

However, the fresh cow dung warmed him and thawed him out. Warm again, the sparrow started to sing.

Just then a passing cat, hearing the singing bird, decided to investigate and dug into the dung. On finding the sparrow, the cat promptly ate it.

    The morals to this story:
  1. Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
  2. Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
  3. And - If you are warm and happy in a pile of shit - keep your mouth shut.
